The New England Patriots 2018 NFL draft tracker is live. Expect this to be busy over the next few days because this team figures to be aggressive.
The Patriots know their window of opportunity is closing. Tom Brady turns 41 this year and can’t outrun Father Time. Sooner or later he’ll start to break down. New England has two choices. Either they use their massive stash of picks to build one more strong supporting cast around their future Hall of Famer, or they package them in an attempt to find his successor. Which will it be?
Only Bill Belichick can answer that question and he never talks. It really could go either way this year. That’s the tipping point the Patriots have reached. Still, given the fact Brady just threw for 500 yards in a Super Bowl, it stands to reason they feel he has at least one more run in him. They’ve always been about a disciplined draft approach. That’s unlikely to change.
