Green Bay Packers 2018 NFL Draft tracker and highlights
Green Bay Packers 2018 NFL Draft tracker and pick highlights. Who will the Packers pick to surround Aaron Rodgers and get back into NFC prominence?
The Green Bay Packers started off the 2018 offseason in a way they typically do not:
Active on the free agent market.
The Packers made a couple of big moves, which is not typical of them in March.
Thanks to some familiarity with Mike Pettine, the Packers were able to lure defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson in free agency after he was released by the New York Jets.
Wilkerson had worked with Pettine in New York, and will be his defensive coordinator in Green Bay.
The Packers also went out and signed unrestricted free agent tight end Jimmy Graham from the Seattle Seahawks, just one year after a failed experiment with Martellus Bennett at the same position.
The Packers’ failed experiments at tight end in recent years include Jared Cook and Bennett, but they are hoping the touchdown machine Graham can come in and have a significant impact on their offense.
An offense, which is taking on a whole new look with the team’s release of star receiver Jordy Nelson. The Packers opted for the youth of Davante Adams, and let Nelson go this offseason.
If this team has a healthy Aaron Rodgers, you always expect them to compete. A strong 2018 NFL Draft class could be key to them getting back into the mix in the NFC North.
