Walford has been dealing with a few injury issues early in camp, a minor issue that should iron out before the season starts. While he may not play on Saturday against the Vikings, he’s still a key guy to watch looking ahead to the rest of camp and the preseason.
It’s no surprise Walford catches the eye of media members at practice. During his time at Miami, he was as impressive as any tight end in college football. He made a name for himself by making big plays and helping his quarterback through the process.
If he can get healthy and stay on the field, he’ll make the team and help immediately.
When he hits the field, watch for simple passes to get him in the groove of playing in the NFL. It shouldn’t take long for the former Hurricane to feel comfortable with the Oakland offense.
