Las Vegas Raiders 2025 NFL Draft: Best QB target in each of the first 3 rounds
The Las Vegas Raiders will enter the 2025 NFL Draft as one of the more quarterback needy teams selecting at the top of the draft.
With scrutiny surrounding the team for not getting in position to draft one of the top 6 quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Raiders will have a chance to get it right in the upcoming draft, especially if they end up with a top 5 pick. Now, this draft class isn’t as heralded as the 2024 class, but there is some intriguing talent in a draft class that may be deep as well.
While the Raiders will be a team in the mix for quarterbacks entering free agency or even on the trade block, now is the time for one of the most storied franchises in the NFL to go get a top prospect to be the face of the future.
2025 NFL Draft quarterbacks worth gambling on
The success of C.J. Stroud in 2023 and Jayden Daniels this year will lead teams in need of a quarterback to look closely as the top dual-threat QB’s in the draft. At the top of that list is Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Miami’s Cam Ward and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe. All three of those prospects would be nice fits for the Raiders, but which one would be the best fit? Furthermore, what opportunities will be present beyond the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft?
In this 2025 NFL Draft series, NFL Mocks looks at the best option at quarterback for the Raiders in each of the first three rounds based on current draft position.
Round 1, Pick 2: Shedeur Sanders, QB – Colorado Buffaloes
Deion Sanders won’t get in the way of the Vegas drafting his son. What better team to draft Shedeur Sanders than the Raiders, a team in desperate need of a quarterback shakeup. Just something about Sanders in a black and silver uniform adds appeal to the fit here, but it is the talent of the Colorado star along with his confidence that will shake things up and add some spice to things in Las Vegas. As one of the more clutch quarterbacks entering the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders’ ability to scramble and make plays downfield will likely lead him to being the top QB taken in the draft.
Round 2, Pick 33: Carson Beck, QB - Georgia Bulldogs
If the Raiders don’t select a QB with the first pick, it will be because they know they can nab a first-round talent like Carson Beck at the top of the second round.
Entering the season as a top 3 QB prospect, Beck’s draft stock has fallen a little, which could benefit a team like the Raiders. With the right players around him, Beck can still be a solid starter. The main appeal here is teaming Beck up with his former college teammate, Brock Bowers. That natural chemistry could help Beck display his accuracy and precision in the NFL.
Round 3, Pick 67: Garrett Nussmeier, QB – LSU Tigers
With two third round picks, the Raiders could still see some intriguing options late on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft. If for some reason they don’t select a QB in the first two rounds, a prospect like Garrett Nussmeier would be the best option.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound junior has thrown for 3,735 yards with 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this season with the Tigers. His arm talent, footwork and command of the offense will intrigue NFL teams, but his lack of experience as a starter will make him more of a development type quarterback in the NFL.
Round 3, Pick 71: Jaxson Dart, QB – Ole Miss Rebels
Don’t be surprised if the Raiders draft two QBs in this draft. Nussmeier is a nice option in that scenario and so is Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart who had himself a season at Ole Miss. With 3,875 yards passing, the Utah native would get a chance to play close to home in Vegas. Standing at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, Dart has good NFL QB size and excels in the RPO game given his athleticism at the position. The arm strength is not ideal, but he does have flexibility in how he can deliver the ball. A dual-threat QB with toughness, Dart also has Raiders written all over him.
