The New York Giants had an impressive 2022 where they shocked the world and made the playoffs, even defeating the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round. But now, just two years later the team has had back to back disappointing seasons and the team seems to have no identity.

While Joe Schoen was criticized for his 2023 NFL Draft class for the players being underwhelming, the 2024 NFL Draft Class was actually a good one for the Giants as they added key players such as Malik Nabers, Tyler Nubin, Andru Phillips, and Tyrone Tracy.

Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll need a big 2025 NFL Draft

In what seems to be a year where Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll have their jobs on the line, they need to make sure they get multiple impact players from this 2025 NFL Draft class as well.

This is a very simple pick, with Cam Ward almost certainly going No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans, that gives the Giants the opportunity to land Carter. While pass rusher might not be the top need for the Giants, it is very difficult to pass up on this caliber of player. He is a freak athlete and racked up 12 sacks this season. This pick could also give the Giants the option to trade Kayvon Thibedoux for a day 2 pick as they just signed Brian Burns to a long term deal last offseason.

While this might not be the most attractive pick on paper, there isn’t much that Greg Zabel can’t do. He has played four different positions on the offensive line and could immediately slot in as a starting guard, or even start at center if John Michael Schmitz does not improve. Outside of Andrew Thomas, the Giants have really struggled drafting productive offensive lineman, and Zabel seems like a player with a high floor.

If the Giants are not going to select a quarterback in this class, they need to turn to the run game to have an identity as an offense. Drafting Quinshon Judkins to pair with Tyrone Tracy would do just that. He is a very versatile back with great vision, power, and receiving ability. He also has elite ball security with only three fumbles in over 800 touches, a problem the Giants struggled with last season.

Danny Stutsman has been a star for Oklahoma in each of the last two seasons. He is very fast for a linebacker and is able to keep up covering running backs and tight ends. But the true strength of his game is the ability to stop the run. He is a player that can fit in any sort of defensive scheme and could be used in multiple roles in a defense as early as his rookie year.
