The first three weeks of the 2026 NFL season have already produced some intriguing storylines that could change the landscape of the 2027 NFL Draft.

With teams like the Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers sitting near the top of the current draft order, the depth of the 2027 quarterback class could make things very interesting.

How patient will teams be with quarterbacks who aren't taking the next step? Could an organization with an established starter actually decide it is time to move in another direction?

In this week's 2027 NFL Mock Draft, one team makes that exact decision with Arch Manning on the board. But that isn't the only quarterback decision that could shake up the first round.

2027 NFL Mock Draft: A franchise-altering QB decision shakes up the top 8

No. 1 Houston Texans (0-3): Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State

The Texans remain winless following a 19-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, which keeps them in the No. 1 spot in the current NFL Draft order.

Although there may be plenty of energy around moving away from C.J. Stroud and selecting another quarterback here, the bigger question is whether there is a quarterback prospect who would give the Texans more than Stroud throwing to a generational talent like Jeremiah Smith.

That will be the big question moving forward if the Texans can't turn their season around.

No. 2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3): Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas

With Jeremiah Smith off the board, the Buccaneers select exciting edge rusher Colin Simmons with the No. 2 overall pick.

Following his 5.5-sack performance against Tennessee, many teams in need of an explosive defender off the edge will have Simmons on their radar. The Buccaneers team him with Rueben Bain Jr. to form an exciting young pass-rushing duo.

No. 3 Tennessee Titans (0-3): Leonard Moore, CB, Notre Dame

There will be rumblings about the Titans moving on from Cam Ward, but he has only played one full season and a few games so far in his career. Plus, he has already gone through a coaching change.

So, give him more time to grow and develop and shift the focus toward finding franchise-level talent at other positions.

Leonard Moore has the size, playmaking skill set and energy to be the Titans' lockdown corner for years to come.

No. 4 Los Angeles Chargers (0-3): Arch Manning, QB, Texas

Here comes the stunner.

The Los Angeles Chargers could be another team facing a major decision at quarterback, but would they really move on from Justin Herbert to select a quarterback with a similar skill set?

In this mock draft, the answer is yes.

With the Chargers still winless and more questions building around Herbert, Los Angeles makes the bold decision to reset at quarterback with Arch Manning.

Manning becomes the first quarterback off the board and lands in a spot few would expect entering the season.

That's what makes these week-to-week mock drafts so fun.

No. 5 Miami Dolphins (0-3): Darian Mensah, QB, Miami (FL)

Darian Mensah remains one of the hottest quarterbacks in the nation.

With his accuracy, dual-threat ability and decision-making, the Dolphins create a big storyline down in South Beach by making him the second quarterback off the board.

This would also set up an interesting quarterback competition in the summer of 2027 between Mensah and Malik Willis.

No. 6 New York Jets (1-2) via Cowboys (1-2): Dante Moore, QB, Oregon

While a scary hit has landed Dante Moore in concussion protocol, he will still be one of the more fascinating quarterback prospects come next April.

The Jets make him the third quarterback off the board here.

Given what the Jets are building offensively, Moore's easiest transition to the NFL could be with a New York team that has been competitive so far in the 2026 season and owns two other premium first-round picks.

No. 7 New York Jets (1-2) via Colts (1-2): Charlie Becker, WR, Indiana

Speaking of premium picks, the Jets make Indiana's Charlie Becker the second wide receiver off the board.

At 6-foot-4, 207 pounds, Becker gives the Jets another big target with a tremendous catch radius and elite competitiveness.

Add him to the mix with Garrett Wilson, Kenyon Sadiq and Dante Moore at quarterback, and the Jets suddenly have one of the more intriguing young offenses in the AFC.

No. 8 Dallas Cowboys (1-2): Cam Coleman, WR, Texas

After the blockbuster trade for Joey Porter Jr., the Cowboys can shift their attention to another area of need in the 2027 NFL Draft.

With the No. 8 pick, they select wide receiver Cam Coleman.

This pick likely means the Cowboys move on from George Pickens, who is playing on a one-year franchise tag. Adding Coleman alongside CeeDee Lamb would make the Cowboys' pockets a little lighter while potentially giving them an even more talented receiving duo.
