Charlie Becker is off to a hot start in the 2026 college football season. He continued that momentum with another head-turning performance, helping lead the No. 4-ranked Indiana Hoosiers to a 29-23 win over the Northwestern Wildcats Friday night.
In a game that was closer than it should have been, Becker proved to be the difference with another clutch performance that should strengthen his case as WR2 behind Jeremiah Smith in the 2027 NFL Draft and as a potential top-10 pick.

Becker didn't need a touchdown or a 50-yard highlight to show why NFL teams should be paying attention. Two catches during one critical third-quarter drive told the story.
With seven receptions for 98 yards, the outstanding Hoosiers wide receiver was instrumental in a key 10-play, 90-yard drive in the third quarter. During the drive, Becker showed off his strong hands and body control with two 22-yard back-shoulder receptions along the sideline, helping set up a field goal that gave Indiana some breathing room.
Look at this throw by Hoosiers quarterback Josh Hoover hauled in by Becker. He turns back, makes the grab and shows the body control to make sure he stays inbounds along the sideline, all with a defender right on him.

Why Charlie Becker continues to separate himself in the 2027 NFL Draft
Those are the types of plays that should catch the eye of NFL teams looking for wide receiver help high in the draft, but it's Becker's contested-catch ability and explosive-play potential that make the 6-foot-4, 208-pound receiver such an igniter on offense and an intriguing prospect come draft time.
While Becker didn't have the type of explosive play Friday night that we have grown accustomed to through the first quarter of the college football season, his ability to make big catches when the game is on the line continues to elevate his draft stock.
There is another Big Ten receiver by the name of KJ Duff making noise as a rapidly rising wide receiver in this draft class, but what separates Becker from another talented receiver like Cam Coleman is what Becker has shown in big moments.
We haven't seen enough of that from Coleman thus far. With Becker, the nation saw it during Indiana's championship run in 2025, and he's taking it to another level so far in 2026.
