2022 NFL Mock Draft: QBs go 1-2, Defense Dominates Top 10
The Eagles are back up again in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, and it’s time to address the offense after selecting Kaiir Elam with their first pick. Obviously, we mentioned how Hurts can still end up being the guy for the future, and how this season will help put concerns to rest. However, with three first round picks at ones disposal, there’s no harm in throwing one at a quarterback.
Matt Corral is the pick here for the Eagles, and like many quarterbacks who have been selected to this point, he doesn’t come without question marks. However, there’s still a lot to like and plenty of reasons why he could end up in round one by next spring.
Corral has some jaw-dropping plays where he flashes elite ball placement and makes a rabbit come out of a hat with the way he can extend plays and make something out of nothing. He challenges tight windows and can make plays on the move. The issue is that his high variance play includes some poor decision making and overconfidence. That still can be reigned in with the right offense and offensive coordinator.
There’s no harm here at all for the Eagles to take a chance on a quarterback with Corral’s upside at pick 20.
