Round 6, 197th overall

OL. Iowa. Alaric Jackson. 878. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 6. player

It is difficult to ignore Alaric Jackson in this range. Jackson was a four-year starter at the left tackle position at Iowa, one of the best offensive line schools in the entire nation. While Jackson lacks the ideal movement skills to play tackle at the next level, he is a smart, powerful and aggressive offensive lineman who should still be able to make an impact for his NFL team.

Jackson’s ability to dominate in short spaces and shine while playing forward makes him a strong fit for a move inside to offensive guard at the next level. He less than ideal movement skills and shorter arms make him a tough fit for offensive tackle anyway. With this pick, the New England Patriots select Jackson and immediately move inside as a player who provides quality offensive guard depth.

Round 6, 199th overall

849. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Louisville. Javian Hawkins. RB. 6. player

The New England Patriots are always looking to fill their running back snaps with a variety of players. Rarely does this team want to really have a featured back who takes a majority of the snaps in a season. With this in mind, they will need many talented backs who can impact the game in a variety of ways on the roster.

Javian Hawkins is a quick and elusive running back prospect who shows tremendous burst through the hole. He is an exciting speed-based running back prospect who also displays impressive playmaking ability as a receiver out of the backfield. Hawkins is never going to be a guy who can handle a full load of carries, but he is an interesting change-of-pace back who can make a major impact as a complimentary piece.

Round 7, 241st overall

810. Pick Analysis. 7. player. Dicaprio Bootle. Scouting Report. CB. Nebraska

With their final pick of this mock draft, the New England Patriots take a chance on an interesting late-round cornerback prospect. Listed at 5-foot-10, 195 pounds, Bootle lacks ideal size at the cornerback position. That being said, he is a tough and scrappy defender who also moves relatively well in space.

Bootle shows nice versatility on the defensive side of the ball and is not afraid to step up and make plays against the run. His toughness shines through at all times and also makes him an interesting option to compete on special teams at the next level.
