2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 27th overall

USC. Alijah Vera-Tucker. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OL. 27. 48

With Tom Brady leading the way, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking to be serious Super Bowl contenders over the next couple of seasons. They undoubtedly have a strong roster filled with impact players on both sides of the ball. That being said, there is certainly some room for improvement at certain positions. Left tackle Donovan Smith has been unreliable at times and if the Bucs find a chance to improve the position, they need to jump at the opportunity.

Alijah Vera-Tucker is a quick and athletic offensive lineman who shines in space. He is a tremendous second-level run blocker and has a ton of upside as a pass protector at the next level. He mostly played left tackle in college this season and could perhaps handle those duties at the next level as well. However, the Bucs have extreme versatility across their offensive line. Allowing them an opportunity to mix and match and still get Smith out of the lineup if Vera-Tucker has to play inside.

Replacing Smith with an impact offensive lineman should be priority number one for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason. The versatility of their offensive line unit allows them an opportunity to attack this need in a variety of ways if needed. Vera-Tucker is the best offensive lineman remaining on the board, making him the best choice available for the team in this mock draft.
