2021 NFL mock draft: Round 3, 76th overall

Scouting Report. Syracuse. 3. player. Pick Analysis. DB. Ifeatu Melifonwu. 827

Ifeatu Melifonwu is a 6-foot-3, 213-pound defensive back prospect who began his college career as a safety. He made the full-time transistion to cornerback in 2019 and quickly took his game to the next level.

Melifonwu has great size and length at the cornerback position, consistently overwhelming receivers at the line of scrimmage. He is suffocating in press coverage, attacks the ball in the air extremely well and moves incredibly well for a man of his size. Melifonwu is quick in short spaces, changes directions in an instant and has good long speed. Simply put, Melifonwu has special movement skills for a player of his size.

Whether he sticks at cornerback or makes a move back to safety, Melifonwu has an exciting skill-set that gives him massive upside at the next level. Make no mistake about it, he would be a fantastic selection for the Washington Football Team in this range.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 3, 82nd overall

Pittsburgh. Pick Analysis. IDL. Jaylen Twyman. 3. player. 866. Scouting Report

Washington is absolutely loaded with talent across the defensive line so taking addressing the position with an early pick here may seem odd. That being said, Jaylen Twyman‘s talent is impossible to ignore in this range.

Twyman is an exciting interior defensive line prospect who shines as a one-gap penetrator. He shows an extremely explosive first step and fires through the line of scrimmage in an instant. Twyman does not offer much as a run defender but his ability to create pressure on the quarterback from the middle is legitimate. With this pick, Washington makes a strong unit even stronger.
