Five 2021 NFL Draft prospects Jaguars should pair with Trevor Lawrence
This past offseason, the Jacksonville Jaguars declined the fifth-year option of current left tackle, Cam Robinson. His inconsistent play and durability issues have made him expendable and with Trevor Lawrence coming to town, it may be smart to add one of the top tackles in the draft to pair with him. A guy that would be perfect as the blindside protection for Lawrence is Virginia Tech’s Christian Darrisaw.
Darrisaw has been the starting left tackle for the Hokies since he stepped onto campus in Blacksburg and has improved every year. He has an effortless way of moving and has powerful hands to go along with his incredible length. He has all of the physical tools you could want in a bookend and more importantly, he would provide a little more reliability for Lawrence that would be key for his early success.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have a solid young core of wide receivers but when you have a guy like Trevor Lawrence, you can never have too many weapons. That’s why targeting a deep threat like Tylan Wallace on Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft could be in play.
Wallace is a precise route-runner and eats up yards after the ball is in his hands. He has deceptive strength for a guy with his slender frame and is very aggressive when the ball is in the air. He would provide Lawrence with a similar style player to Cornell Powell, who enjoyed a breakout season for the Tigers in 2020.
With Dede Westbrook unlikely to return in 2021, Wallace could be an option to take his roster spot.
