Michael Carter. 4. player. 838. Pick Analysis. RB. Scouting Report. North Carolina

James Robinson has been the surprise of the 2020 NFL season and he will look to take an even bigger step into stardom in 2021. However, the Jacksonville Jaguars have got to give him a little bit of help in the backfield by adding somebody in the draft that could help him take a breather every now and then.

One player that would pair great with Trevor Lawrence is UNC’s, Michael Carter. Like Travis Etienne, Carter can hurt teams in both the run and passing game, providing Lawrence with a reliable safety valve when the pocket breaks down.

If the Jags are looking to find a back in the middle rounds of the 2021 NFL draft, Carter would be a great compliment for James Robinson and would add another wrinkle for Lawrence.

Scouting Report. 804. 5. player. Pick Analysis. CB. Florida State. Asante Samuel Jr.

This one is a little bit of a stretch as obviously, Asante Samuel Jr. wouldn’t pair with Trevor Lawrence in a traditional sense, but adding a ball hawk to the secondary that can create turnovers and get Lawrence more possessions is obviously a good idea.

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ current crop of cornerbacks have only come down with three interceptions in 15 games this season, while Asante Samuel Jr. managed to nab three in just eight games while playing on a defense that didn’t provide him with much help.

Samuel has the skillset to play both on the boundary as well as in the slot and could give the Jaguars a versatile corner to pair with 2020 first-round pick, C.J. Henderson.
