Round 1, 26th Overall

EDGE. Georgia. Pick Analysis. Azeez Ojulari. 1. player. 814. Scouting Report

The New York Jets hold two first-round picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, acquiring this later selection in the Jamal Adams trade with the Seattle Seahawks. It was tempting to immediately give Fields some much-needed offensive help with this pick, but Azeez Ojulari stood out as too valuable of a player at an important position of need.

Ojulari is a quick and explosive edge rusher who bends around the corner and closes on the quarterback in an instant. He is an impact speed rusher who can create pressure on the quarterback with a variety of pass rush moves.

While Ojulari is primarily a speed-based edge rusher, do not sleep on his physicality and ability to compete as a run defender. He does get overwhelmed by power at times, but Ojulari shows good instincts as a run defender and typically sets a strong edge. The New York Jets have a massive need at the edge rusher position and Ojulari has a chance to be special. He is an obvious choice for the team with their late first-round pick in this 2021 NFL mock draft.

Round 2, 34th Overall

WR. Kadarius Toney. 840. 2. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Florida

No longer just a gadget player, Florida wide receiver Kadarius Toney has taken his game to the next level this season. Toney has developed nicely as a route runner, using his impressive natural quickness, speed and acceleration to shake opposing defenders with ease. He is extremely difficult to defend in man coverage and is an elite playmaker with the ball in his hands.

Simply put, Toney is an incredibly explosive playmaker who could come in and make an immediate impact for the New York Jets. They need to find more young offensive playmakers who can grow with Fields in the offense and Toney feels like a strong fit. Pairing Toney and Denzel Mims at the wide receiver position would give the Jets an exciting young duo who could help take their offensive attack to the next level.
