Round 3, 71st Overall

71. player. 847. Christian Darrisaw. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OT. Virginia Tech

The Washington Football Team has not been able to adequately replace Trent Williams at the left tackle position and would be wise to consider making an addition if the right opportunity presented itself. In the third round of this mock draft, Washington finds that opportunity with Christian Darrisaw still on the board.

Darrisaw is growing into a high-level 2021 NFL Draft prospect this season, as he continues to shine at left tackle for Virginia Tech. Darrisaw is a strong athlete for an offensive lineman who is particularly impressive when he is allowed to get out and work in space. He is quick off of the ball, relatively powerful at the point of attack and does a great job of playing under control.

He shines as a second-level blocker and has shown significant improvement as a pass protector this season. Darrisaw has exciting upside at the next level and could be a massive steal in this range.

Round 3, 78th Overall

Texas. player. Scouting Report. 78. 851. Pick Analysis. S. Caden Sterns

The Washington Football Team has an extra third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, stemming from the Trent Williams trade with the San Francisco 49ers. After loading up on offense early in this mock draft, they pay some attention to the defense here with the selection of safety Caden Sterns.

Sterns is a rangy and athletic safety who shows impressive playmaking ability on the back-end. He shows strong instincts in zone coverage and attacks the ball in the air extremely well. Sterns has a ton of upside as a single-high safety at the next level and would undoubtedly be a strong addition to the Washington secondary.
