2021 NFL Draft: Five prospects that can instantly transform their new team
By Kyle Edmond
Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
Teams across the NFL are transitioning to athletic tight ends that double as another set of wide receivers. Players like Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and Mark Andrews are showing the league what an athletic tight end can do and more teams will be looking for a weapon of that nature.
In the 2021 NFL Draft, there might not be a more dynamic offensive weapon, outside of quarterbacks, than Kyle Pitts. In just three games this year, Pitts has quickly tallied seven touchdowns, including a four-touchdown game against Ole Miss to begin the season.
If you look at the teams at the top of the draft that don’t need a quarterback, most lack weapons, especially at the tight end position. Pitts would provide to those teams not only a downfield and red-zone threat but a reliable check down option for quarterbacks with the ability to make something out of nothing.
While Pitts is known for his red-zone ability, having 13 touchdowns over his 19 game career at Florida, he’s also been able to average 13.5 yards per reception. That type of consistent production should be a draw to any team looking for a playmaker that can transform their offense and franchise.
