2021 NFL Draft: Trey Lance lands in top five of way-too-early mock draft
Philadelphia Eagles’ projected win total: 7.7
Hamsah Nasirildeen 2019 stats: 101 total tackles (2 for loss), 1 sack, 2 interceptions (1 touchdown), 3 passes defended and 3 forced fumbles.
Hamsah Nasirildeen is a fantastic athlete at the safety position who undoubtedly has massive upside at the next level. Nasirldeen is fast and explosive in the box and extremely physical in all aspects of his game. He also has long arms as a reliable tackler in space.
The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to use Jalen Mills as the primary replacement for Malcolm Jenkins as the box safety this season. Mills is a solid player, but his upside is likely limited in that role. Plus, Mills is set to become a free agent next offseason.
Nasirildeen could be an ideal replacement for Jenkins and a major playmaker for the Eagles on the defensive side of the ball. I wanted to give them a cornerback in this mock draft, but the value of snagging Nasirildeen at No. 17 was too high to ignore.
*This pick comes to Jacksonville from the Jalen Ramsey trade with the Los Angeles Rams.
Kyle Pitts 2019 stats: 54 receptions for 649 yards and 5 touchdowns.
After snagging Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick of this mock draft, the Jaguars use their extra first to get him a dynamic weapon. Kyle Pitts is a tremendous athlete at the tight end position who easily creates separation at all times. Pitts is a crafty route runner who also shows great speed, quickness and natural athleticism. He also has strong hands and plenty of run after catch ability.
Pitts is not much of a blocker at this point of his career but he is a fantastic receiving threat on the inside. Pitts should be able to come in and make an immediate impact as a big slot option at the next level and undoubtedly has a ton of long-term upside. He is the most talented tight end in the 2021 NFL Draft class and would fill an immediate position of need for the Jaguars.
