Trevon Diggs. 46. Pick Analysis. Cornerback. Alabama. 29. player. Scouting Report

Unlike his brother, Stefon, who was a fifth-round pick, Trevon Diggs is getting a ton of buzz as a first-round prospect in the 2020 NFL Mock Draft. Stefon has proven to be one of the best wide receivers in the league, and Trevon would look to become one of the best at stopping them.

Trevon made the switch from wide receiver to cornerback rather recently, so he is still learning some of the ins and outs of the position. But he has some very desirable traits to build on.

Diggs has great size, athleticism and ball skills. He is instinctual in zone coverage and big, long and physical in press-man. With more time to develop, Diggs will work out the kinks in his game (blown coverages and bad penalties) and become a very productive corner.

The Colts made this move because they could use another solid corner to round out their secondary. They signed Xavier Rhodes in free agency, drafted Rock Ya-Sin in the second round last year, and also brought in T.J. Carrie this offseason.

However, Rhodes had the worst season of his career in 2109 leading to his release, Ya-Sin shows potential but still needs to prove himself and Carrie’s ceiling is pretty clear as a serviceable slot corner. Why not bring in another solid option and see if he can earn some playing time and develop into a top NFL corner?

Pick Analysis. Linebacker. 30. Scouting Report. Texas Tech. Jordyn Brooks. player. 49

This may seem like a surprising pick to most people, myself included. But the Green Bay Packers are no strangers to deviating from the norm towards the end of the first round, especially with defensive players.

Last year the Packers surprise was Maryland safety Darnell Savage, who had a very solid rookie campaign in Green Bay. This year, it could be Jordyn Brooks, as NFL.com’s Peter Schrager says to be on the lookout for Brooks in the first round:

Although he doesn’t mention the Packers, it seems like a logical fit. Given their draft history and their need at the linebacker position, a productive and downhill run-stopper makes sense after the loss of Blake Martinez. Brooks’ production and athletic upside must really impress teams, and I wouldn’t be surprise if Green Bay is the team that pulls the trigger in the first round of the 2020 NFL Mock Draft.
