Round 2

player. 31. Interior Offensive Lineman. Michigan. Cesar Ruiz. 36. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Spencer Pulley is not an appealing starter at the center position. In the middle of their offensive line, the interior has to be sound for Daniel Jones to step up in the pocket to make crucial throws. While a rookie will have many responsibilities as a starter, the junior at 6’3″ 307 pounds from Michigan has the experience and is a sound technician overall. Cesar Ruiz may be taken as early as the first round but if he falls, the Giants have to seize the opportunity and take him here.

Round 3

player. 31. Offensive Tackle. St. John’s (MN). Ben Bartch. 99. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Fleming is more of a swing tackle and they could use an offensive tackle that could play either side of the offensive line. The Giants need an eventual replacement for Nate Solder but they need a starter at the right tackle spot currently. The small school senior from St. John’s (MN) at 6’6″ 309 pounds may need some development with his limited starting experience. Ben Bartch offers upside with his athleticism (as a converted tight end) but he may not pay dividends right away. But if he can get coached up well right away, Bartch could compete for the starting job at either tackle positions and become a solid starter.
