Michigan State. 129. player. 26. Scouting Report. Linebacker. Pick Analysis. Joe Bachie Jr.

Earlier, we touched on the lack of proper depth at the middle linebacker position behind the veteran Fort. After taking Murray in the first round, here the Baltimore Ravens swing back around and take Michigan State linebacker Joe Bachie with their first pick in the fourth round.

Bachie, who has gone under-the-radar amongst the linebacker group of this class, plays with an underrated amount of anticipation. He doesn’t have the broadest range, nor does he possess the necessary length to consistently disengage from blockers. But Bachie makes up for these shortcomings by possessing great instincts and physicality.  Ideally, he would be a rotational piece, playing in sub-packages and potentially starting later on down the road.

Brandon Jones. 134. Scouting Report. Safety. Texas. player. 26. Pick Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens re-signed safety Chuck Clark this offseason to a three-year deal after proving to be a reliable starter this past season. And after releasing Jefferson, Baltimore could add a bit more depth behind Clark. If they go this route, Texas safety Brandon Jones would join a depth chart that also includes former teammate DeShon Elliott.

Jones is a pure box safety with some moderately capable coverage abilities. He plays his best football when he’s down near the LOS making tackles and/or covering running backs or tight ends and if he was drafted by any other team, he’d likely start.
