Pick Analysis. WR. Henry Ruggs. Scouting Report. Alabama. 11. player. 52

Henry Ruggs is so fast it seems like he has a jet pack attached to him when he runs. There’s no question that he can become a very dangerous deep threat, but the main question with him is whether he can be a consistent, high volume type of receiver in the NFL.

The most catches Ruggs ever had in a season at Alabama was 46, but that is also because Alabama was loaded with receiving talent around him. While I don’t think Ruggs will ever be an 80 or 90 plus catch kind of receiver, he still has the type of speed that makes you change your game plan to account for.

D.J. Chark had a breakout sophomore campaign as he was selected to the Pro Bowl. He caught 73 passes for 1008 yards and eight touchdowns. The former second-round pick looks like a solid number one option for the foreseeable future, but the Jacksonville Jaguars don’t have many options beyond him. Keelan Cole, Dede Westbrook and Chris Conley are all starting quality players, but having one of them as your second-best receiver makes for an average receiving core.

The Jacksonville Jaguars could add a receiver at nine overall, but if they chose to address another need like offensive tackle there they could move up from 20 to the high teens and secure one of the top-flight receivers in the class.
