4. Interior Offensive Line

With Marshal Yanda‘s retirement looming in the background and Matt Skura‘s status as a free agent, the Baltimore Ravens find themselves with a need at interior offensive line. Yanda has been a mainstay at right guard for Baltimore for 13 seasons, while Skura enjoyed a nice 2019 campaign before suffering a knee injury against the Los Angeles Rams.

While the thought of losing two starting offensive lineman may be troublesome, the Baltimore Ravens still possess some solid pieces on the interior. Second-year guard Bradley Bozeman played well in his first full season at right guard and undrafted rookie Patrick Mekari did a dependable job filling in for the injured Skura.

Lastly, there’s 2019 fourth-round pick Ben Powers who spent most of the season on the inactive list, saw limited snaps during the Baltimore Ravens Week 17 matchup with the Pittsburgh. Although Powers will most likely slide in a right guard if Yanda retires, Baltimore could address center if Skura leaves and they feel that they can improve at center.

In free agency, there aren’t many enticing options outside of Skura himself and Denver’s Connor McGovern. Furthermore, Baltimore has more pressing needs going into the offseason so it’s safe to say that center is off their free agency radar.

As such, the Baltimore Ravens will more than likely address the position at some point in the 2020 NFL Draft, more specifically on Day Three with one of their fourth-round picks. While Day Two options such as LSU’s Lloyd Cushenberry or Wisconsin’s Tyler Biadasz are certainly on the table, Baltimore will most likely look to other areas. Therefore, players such as Temple’s Matt Hennessey, Oregon’s Jake Hanson or Texas center Zach Shackelford are more likely to be targeted.
