3. Wide Receiver

While this may be a surprise to some, but wide receiver is still a sneaky need for the Baltimore Ravens. During their playoff loss to the Tennesse Titans, Baltimore’s receivers struggled with drops, which could cause general manager Eric DeCosta to add more talent at the position.

Despite this, the Baltimore Ravens receivers were fairly reliable throughout the season. Marquise Brown, despite struggling with an injury early on, played fairly well overall. Additionally, Miles Boykin, the Ravens other 2019 rookie receiver, showed flashes of being a solid number two or three option last season, but still has room to grow. Willie Snead, whom they signed to a one-year extension, was a solid option when targeted but struggled in the postseason.

The crop of pending free agent wide receivers in 2020 is interesting. The Baltimore Ravens have had a long history of bringing in veteran help to set them over the top. While it’s unlikely that they will, given their needs at other positions, players such as A.J. Green and Robby Anderson could be enticing options.

If the Baltimore Ravens don’t bring in a receiver via free agency, the 2020 NFL Draft is historically deep at the position. At the back end of round one, Baltimore may look at LSU’s Justin Jefferson, Clemson’s Tee Higgins or TCU’s Jalen Reagor to fill their need at receiver. Conversely, they could look at day two or three options such as ASU’s Brandon Aiyuk, South Carolina’s Bryan Edwards or Tennessee’s Jauan Jennings as potential targets.
