Wide receiver. K.J. Hamler. player. 49. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Penn State. 30

It’s been a quick turnaround for the Green Bay Packers under first-year head coach Matt LaFleur. This Packers team has already clinched a playoff berth and could secure a first-round bye and a division title with wins in the final two weeks of the season.

That’s all well and good, but right now, this isn’t a team who can push for a Super Bowl title. They’ve struggled mightily against top competition, and have been winning ugly for the past several weeks. The defense looks great with the Smith brothers off the edge and improvement from second-year corner Jaire Alexander, but it’s the offense that needs some work going forward.

Davante Adams has been great for the Packers the last few seasons, and he’s a great route runner who can separate against top corners. However, he isn’t a burner by any means and is limited after the catch, something most of their receivers struggle with.

Let’s change that and find the Packers a true weapon in the passing game with explosiveness. K.J. Hamler hasn’t declared for the 2020 NFL Draft just yet, but he could be a first-round pick with the talent he has. Hamler has great quickness and athleticism to create separation initially, but it’s his speed and shifty nature in open space that will have teams drooling. He would fit in well in LaFleur’s offense, and can even be the guy to threaten vertically that they’ve been missing.
