Edge. Chase Young. 31. Pick Analysis. Ohio State. 2. player. Scouting Report

As long as the New York Giants keep losing, they’ll be in prime position to select Chase Young in the 2020 NFL Draft. Young is the best player in the draft, and the need for quarterbacks pushes him down the second spot.

In the past week, Young talked to TMZ and said that he’s leaning towards coming back to school for his senior season. However, with the season he’s had, and that he’s the (mostly) consensus top prospect in the class, this is probably Young just telling the media he’s focused on winning a championship with the Buckeyes.

The Giants have their quarterback in house already, and it seems a little early for them to take a wide receiver, especially in such a deep class. There’s no way that Dave Gettleman can pass on a top defensive lineman.

Young is an excellent edge rusher with all the tools to succeed on the next level. He has great athleticism and bend on the edge, while also showing great hand usage to prevent tackles from latching on to him. His 16.5 sacks in 2019 set a new Big Ten record, and teams eventually started double and triple-teaming him. With Dalvin Tomlinson and Dexter Lawrence already on the defensive line, Young would get a chance to feast on the edge in New York.
