OL. Tennessee. Scouting Report. Trey Smith. 2. player. 839. Pick Analysis

Trey Smith is a dominant offensive lineman who is incredibly powerful at the point of attack. He was once a good left tackle but now he is playing on the inside and has been dominant.

Smith is an extremely impressive run blocker who consistently clears out holes on the inside. He is quick off of the ball and has extremely strong hands. Smith consistently fires out a powerful punch and shows tremendous natural grip strength. Once he is engaged on a defender, it is typically game over.

The Carolina Panthers could take Smith to clear out holes for Christian McCaffrey on the inside. He also has good overall pass protection ability which would help keep the quarterback protected from the inside. The Panthers have an obvious need at offensive guard and Smith has a chance to be one of the best in the draft class. Landing him here would be ideal for the Carolina Panthers.

Whether the Panthers bring Tre Boston back or not, safety stands out as a potential need for the team in the 2020 NFL Draft. Here in the third round of this mock draft, Ashtyn Davis stands out as a great value selection and could immediately fill their need at safety.

Davis is an extremely quick and athletic safety prospect who has great range on the back-end. He has some great playmaking ability as a single-high safety and can even come up and make plays against the run. If the Panthers want to fill their safety need through the 2020 NFL Draft, Davis would be an ideal choice.
