2020 NFL Draft: Jerry Jeudy slides in this three-round NFL mock draft
The Cleveland Browns would love to find a franchise left tackle to build their offensive line around with their first pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, but taking any offensive tackle on the board here would be a reach. Instead, the Browns fill another major need by bringing in Alabama safety Xavier McKinney.
Free safety Damarious Randall is a free agent this offseason and while they could look to bring him back, Randall has not been great this year. Instead, the Browns should look to improve at the free safety position.
McKinney is an impressive playmaker on the back-end who shows an extremely well-rounded skill set. He is an extremely athletic and rangy back-end safety who covers a lot of the field and has a nose for the ball. McKinney also does a nice job of coming up to support the run, tackles well in space and can make an impact in the blitz game. Taking McKinney here may seem like a reach to some, but he is a high-level playmaker who would fill a major need for Cleveland.
Trevon Diggs is one of my favorite cornerback prospects in the 2020 NFL draft class. His length on the outside can be absolutely suffocating and he moves extremely well for a man of his size. Diggs is also an athletic cornerback who shows impressive natural ball skills on the outside.
The Oakland Raiders have a solid defense, but their cornerback situation leaves plenty to be desired. They could really use a true lockdown option on the outside and Diggs has the ability to become that guy.
