Zack Moss (#2) – Utah Utes

2019 Season Stats: 180 carries, 1158 yards, 14 touchdowns

Despite being lost in the mire at times amongst names such as Jonathan Taylor or Travis Etienne Zack Moss is one of the more prominent players in the deep running back class of the 2020 NFL Draft. As right now, Moss is the Utes all-time leading rusher at 3,809 career rushing yards, which looks nice but is his play on the field able to back that up? The short answer is yes.

While only coming in at 5-11, 208 pounds, Moss plays much bigger than that on the field. Moss plays as if he’s always looking for contact, sort of like a linebacker or an in the box safety in that regard. He displays good vision with an ability to burst through the holes his offensive line provides.

Another aspect of Moss’s game that I find fascinating is his breakaway speed. Moss could potentially run in the high 4.4s when NFL Combines come to Indianapolis next March. His speed matched with his ability to catch as well makes Moss a dangerous prospect.

Providing the running lanes are present for him on Saturday, Moss should have another productive day on the ground. It will an interesting watch to see guys like Mustafa Johnson and other Colorado defenders trying to bring him down.
