2020 NFL Draft: Thanksgiving Day first-round 2020 NFL mock draft
20. Jacksonville Jaguars: C.J. Henderson, CB, Florida
The biggest story to come out of Jacksonville this season was when they traded away star corner Jalen Ramsey to the LA Rams for this very pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Well, now the Jaguars get a potential replacement for the former All-Pro by drafting another talented corner out of the state of Florida, C.J. Henderson.
Henderson has been flying under the radar as a corner prospect this draft season but it finally feels like he’s starting to get the recognition he deserves. He’s been lockdown for the Gators for the last three years and the numbers back that up.
In 29 games, Henderson has 6 interceptions (1 returned for a TD), 19 pass deflections and has shown the ability to disguise his blitzes on his way to 4 career sacks.
He’s a workout warrior type of guy, has legitimate track speed and has the length that the Jaguars like in their corners at 6-foot-1.
Henderson would also have the benefit of joining a secondary that has performed well since Ramsey’s departure and wouldn’t be expected to come in and be a lockdown guy right away.
I like the fit here for Henderson, and the Jaguars defense now has two big-time playmakers to add to the mix with him and Derrick Brown.
