Quarterback: Justin Herbert, Oregon

As covered in his scouting report, Justin Herbert is one of the most capable passers in college football. Many writers would put Jalen Hurts here, and they would not be wrong to do so. His ability to produce on the ground draws comparisons to Cam Newton, and he has an arm to complement his athleticism.

I personally chose Herbert because I believe he will make many more heads turn at the next level with his arm talent instead of his legs. Lamar Jackson has recently revolutionized how we evaluate the quarterback position, drawing more attention to the likes of Hurts, but big-arm pocket-passers will always have their place within the NFL.

Hebert has continuously made a number of incredible, tight-window throws that turn heads and make people reconsider their quarterback rankings. How many other times has a college quarterback been able to make tight-window throws to a post route, follow that up with a ‘frozen-rope’ ball to the outside, and then finish off the drive with a perfectly thrown ball over the hands of a linebacker and underneath safeties?

How many college quarterbacks have consistently thrown passes in between defenders to the middle of the field with unseen ball velocity?

Not many, and those who have typically produce in the NFL. Justin Herbert is a freakish athlete, just not in the typical sense. He is a player who can revigorate an NFL offense with his addition, and should not be ignored.
