Jalen Hurts has soared back into the public eye after being exiled from the Crimson Tide and he will undoubtedly be one of the most interesting prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, will all of his recent success translate to the next level?

With some of the most impressive games in college football this season, including a six TD performance against Houston, Jalen Hurts has reasserted himself into the landscape of top-flight NCAA quarterbacks. He is also establishing himself as an extremely interesting 2020 NFL Draft prospect.

His box scores are astounding, making him seem like the third-straight Heisman contender out of Oklahoma, but does this all mean he will be able to perform against NFL defenses and be able to run an NFL offense? After looking at his games against both Houston and UCLA, we may be able to gain insight into how Hurts will transition.

I put this NFL draft scouting report into three sections; mental, physical and arm talent.

The mental section will be based on his ability to make reads, pocket presence and awareness. This category judges the ability for a quarterback to manage the game and make the right decisions while keeping cool under pressure.

The physical section will be related to athleticism outside of the throwing arm. This will revolve around mobility, physical presence (within and outside the pocket), as well as any other outstanding attributes that become apparent.

Finally, the arm talent category will look at any and everything dealing with the delivery of the football, primarily dealing with mechanics and tendencies.

Has Hurts shown enough this season to put himself in first-round consideration for the 2020 NFL Draft? Let’s take a look.
