Third round

Signing Trey Flowers in the 2019 offseason was certainly one piece of the pass rush puzzle for the Lions.

Now, they need more.

Although Detroit’s defense is sort of tailored to generate a well-rounded inside-out pressure, they really could benefit from having a true edge presence.

Darrell Taylor out of Tennessee can truly be that for them, and he’s displayed a variety of moves throughout his career off the edge to help apply pressure on the opposing quarterback.

Taylor is close to beating his personal record of eight sacks (6 so far in 2019) and has been productive the past couple of seasons as a pass rusher despite not putting up gawdy numbers. He’s consistently putting pressure on the quarterback but he’s not a one-trick pony, either.

At 6-foot-4, 255 pounds, Taylor can set the edge and play the run as well.

I think he’d be a nice fit for the Lions in round three here.
