2020 NFL Draft: First-round mock draft with four QBs early
The pass defense has been a consistent issue for the Philadelphia Eagles this season. While injuries have been a problem at the cornerback position, the Eagles have consistently struggled to defend opposing wide receivers all season long. They simply cannot let their lack of talent and depth at cornerback hurt them again. With the 15th pick of this 2020 NFL draft scenario, the Eagles take LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton.
Fulton is a sticky man-to-man corner who shows impressive traits in press coverage. He is long and aggressive at the line of scrimmage and understands how to make opposing receivers uncomfortable. He also has plenty of speed and quickness to keep up with the receiver throughout the route and shows good ball skills. Fulton is not an impressive tackler, but he is a good cover corner who would immediately improve the Eagles at an important defensive position.
Whether the Jacksonville Jaguars decide to move forward with Nick Foles or Gardner Minshew at quarterback, they could use some more impact weapons on the offensive side of the ball. In this mock draft, the Jaguars land the most explosive offensive weapon in the 2020 NFL draft class, Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs III.
Ruggs is the fastest and most explosive player in all of college football and when he enters the NFL, he will be the fastest and most explosive player in the NFL. This guy has elite speed and quickness that makes him a can’t miss prospect in the 2020 NFL draft class. If he competes, Ruggs is going to go to the NFL scouting combine and break some records.
His speed stands out on the field, but Ruggs is also a well-rounded player at the wide receiver position. He runs crisp and precise routes, consistently catches the ball away from his body and does well in contested-catch situations. Ruggs obviously uses his speed and quickness to separate from the defensive back and make plays after the catch, but he is a well-rounded player who could come in and immediately be a star in the Jags’ offense.
