WR. 12. player. 59. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Oklahoma. CeeDee Lamb

One pick after Hurts goes off of the board, his favorite target lands with the Miami Dolphins. Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has been fantastic this season and has put himself in the conversation to be a top-ten selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. He falls just outside the top ten in this mock draft, but Lamb lands in a perfect situation to make an immediate impact.

Earlier in this 2020 NFL draft scenario, the Dolphins took their franchise quarterback, Joe Burrow. Here, with the pick that they received from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade, the Dolphins give Burrow a true number one wide receiver to throw to.

Lamb is never going to impress with his raw speed, but he is quick and shifty in small spaces and can make defenders miss in the open field with ease. He shows impressive start and stop quickness which leads to his strong route-running ability. Lamb’s speed alone is never going to allow him to separate, but he is a smart and crafty route runner who knows how to find space.

When the ball is in the air, Lamb shines in every aspect. He tracks the ball in the air extremely well, he controls his body in the air at an elite level and his overall ball skills are incredible. Lamb consistently shows the ability to concentrate and catch the ball through contact. Even when he does not create a ton of separation, Lamb can usually put himself in a position to catch the ball.

Simply put, CeeDee Lamb is one of the most impressive offensive playmakers in the 2020 NFL draft class. The Dolphins could pair him with Preston Williams on the outside and give Burrow a young and interesting duo of receivers to grow with.
