2020 NFL Draft: Two-round mock draft featuring Joe Burrow going No. 2
It has been an extremely disappointing start to the season for the Washington Redskins and they are unlikely to turn it around anytime soon. The Washington franchise is an absolute mess and they need significant work on both sides of the ball.
It is extremely difficult to mock for teams like the Redskins this early in the process. Washington will be hiring a new head coach over the offseason and that will obviously make a major impact on which direction they go in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, based on positional needs and the talent available on the board, we can make a logical guess for the direction they could go.
With the third pick of this mock draft, the Washington Redskins select Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. Jeudy is the top wide receiver in the 2020 NFL draft class and has huge upside at the next level. He is an extremely smooth and slippery wide receiver who runs great routes, consistently catches the ball and is a tremendous playmaker after the catch.
Jeudy is an extremely talented and dependable receiver who consistently makes plays on the outside. He is an impressive deep receiver who can create separation on the outside. Even when Jeudy does not naturally separate he does a great job of controlling his body in the air and coming down with contested catches.
Going forward, the Redskins need to do what they can to get the most out of quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Getting him a true number one receiver like Jeudy is only going to help Haskins’ chances of becoming a true franchise quarterback going forward.
