Pick Analysis. QB. LSU. Joe Burrow. 2. player. Scouting Report. 59

The improvement of LSU quarterback Joe Burrow this season has been nothing short of incredible. Coming into the season, Burrow was a solid college quarterback who had a chance to be an early day-three pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Now, he is clearly one of the best players in college football who could legitimately challenge to be the top overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Burrow has been absolutely incredible this season, leading the LSU offense to consistent productivity. He is a smart quarterback who spreads the ball around the field well. Burrow shows a quick release and good overall arm talent. He gets the ball out quickly and consistently puts it on a dime. Burrow can push the ball down the field when necessary and shows great accuracy and touch to all fields.

The Miami Dolphins are extremely unlikely to leave the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft without a new quarterback prospect to build around. Not long ago, Tagovailoa and Oregon’s Justin Herbert looked like the most likely quarterbacks to go early. Burrow has now undoubtedly put himself in that conversation.

The Dolphins are going to have a lot of picks in this mock draft and will have an opportunity to significantly improve their stock of talent on both sides of the ball. Here, it all starts with taking Burrow. He is a top-tier quarterback prospect who would give the Dolphins a true franchise player to build their team around.
