QB. Scouting Report. 1. player. 56. Pick Analysis. Alabama. Tua Tagovailoa

For a quarterback-needy team like the Cincinnati Bengals, I have a hard time considering anybody other than Tua Tagovailoa with the first overall pick. Tagovailoa is not only the clear top quarterback in the 2020 NFL draft class, but he is also arguably the best overall player.

Tagovailoa legitimately has it all at the quarterback position. He is an extremely smart and aware quarterback who always makes the right decision, he has more than enough arm talent and is a mobile player who can make plays with his legs. However, most importantly, Tagovailoa is a pin-point passer who is always on the market.

Tua does a fantastic job of leading his receivers when it is necessary and protecting them when he can. He consistently puts the ball where only his guy can make the play and shows tremendous natural touch on his passes when needed. Tagovailoa did suffer a high ankle sprain on Saturday and it may cost him a couple of games, but honestly, it should not make an impact on his 2020 NFL draft stock.

The Bengals have been stuck in mediocrity with Andy Dalton under center for years. They finally moved on from Marvin Lewis, now it is time to replace Dalton. Tagovailoa is an elite-level quarterback prospect who has massive upside at the next level. If Cincinnati ends up with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, taking Tua is an easy decision.
