Cleveland Browns

The Browns have made a bevy of moves in the offseason to win the coveted “offseason champs” award, including trading for Odell Beckham Jr, picking up Kareem Hunt, and drafting cornerback Greedy Williams. In their press conference yesterday, head coach Freddie Kitchens talked about continuously getting good players in their building. Maybe the Browns aren’t done just yet.

They still have around $32 million in cap space, which is plenty of room to sign Daniels. The interior defensive line looks stout as far as starters go, with Larry Ogunjobi and newly added Sheldon Richardson leading the way. However, there isn’t much depth behind the two.

This is where Daniels can come in, even if it’s just for one season. Having Daniels as an early down lineman can help the run defense in a big way. Daniels can occupy multiple linemen which will free up the linebackers to make plays coming downhill. Then, on later downs, Richardson can come in and get after the quarterback. Having a three-man rotation on the interior will help the wear and tear of a full season.

Just picture a Browns defensive line with Daniels, Richardson, Ogunjobi, Myles Garrett, and Olivier Vernon. That’s not a line I would want to play against.
