Marvin Lewis is gone now. That means all the players he may have shown favoritism to over the years in Cincinnati just lost their safety net. Including the quarterback. People have wanted Andy Dalton gone for some time but the Bengals have been reluctant to do so. New head coach Zac Taylor may not release him outright, but that can’t stop him from bringing in competition.

Teddy Bridgewater isn’t likely to stay in New Orleans. Not unless Drew Brees plans to retire. He’ll want to go somewhere he has a chance to start. Cincinnati has pieces in place that would be friendly to a quarterback including the new coach who is a QB specialist. It may not be a guarantee, but does anybody think Bridgewater wouldn’t embrace a competition to topple Dalton?
