Porter Gustin (EDGE, USC)

One thing that separated Jackson from others is his unrelenting work ethic. That’s what helped to push him through the injury setback and into stardom so soon. It’s not hard to see the parallels with Porter Gustin. He too comes from a prominent program at USC and is rumored to have a highly strict diet and workout regimen that gets him to be in fantastic physical condition. Combine that with intelligence and relentless motor? You get a pretty darn good pass rusher.

Things were revving up bigtime for Gustin in 2018. Through his first six games, he was on a tear with 7.5 sacks. Then he broke his ankle and that was it. Again in a similar situation to Jackson. Now Gustin isn’t quite the same athlete. His game is more about strength and persistence than blazing speed but the kid has the temperament to be that pass rusher in the NFL who unexpectedly develops into a consistent force each year.
