Defense:

OLB Joey Alfieri

Stanford’s leading pass rusher is outside linebacker Joey Alfieri as he should be a key in stopping Justin Herbert and the Oregon offense. The senior pass rusher has 2.5 sacks, four tackles for loss, a forced fumble and pass deflection, and16 total tackles for Stanford. He has surprising coverage skills as he can drop back and break up a pass in the flat against Oregon’s running backs.

S Malik Antoine

The junior converted cornerback now safety made the freshman quarterback J.T. Daniels pay during the USC game in Week 2, throwing two interceptions to Malik Antoine and could make Herbert regret throwing towards him.

Stanford had safety Justin Reid enter the NFL Draft last year and they had Antoine step in this year to replace him. He is leading Stanford in interceptions with two picks and should be a key part in Stanford’s secondary in stopping Oregon’s passing game.
