Start Josh Allen

Even though Josh Allen outplayed Nathan Peterman, it is still not great throwing less than 50% of his 15 attempts and throwing less than 100 yards. The Baltimore Ravens defense was suffocating in this game as  Peterman was harassed early till he had to be pulled from the game, throwing two interceptions and only throwing 24 yards with a 0 passer rating.

Allen led the Bills to their field goal drive and was sacked less than Peterman thanks to his mobility. Even though throwing a rookie quarterback into the fire in his debut against an aggressive defense is not the best idea ever, McDermott should have realized Peterman was not going to do any better as his stats last year, in relief of Tyrod Taylor, were at the bottom of the league.

The Bills were a 9-7 playoff team last year to a progressively worse offense especially this year and may not make it close to 9 wins in 2018.

For the Bills defense, they just could not stop the Ravens passing game at all, even with Tre’Davious White, Jordan Poyer, and Micah Hyde. Their run defense was good early but their defense, in general, could not stop them from scoring when they had to.

First round pick Tremaine Edmunds had a sack, a forced fumble, a tackle for loss, and seven total tackles in his debut.

Their receivers could not get open or had the time to develop their routes against the Ravens secondary as Zay Jones lead their team in catches with only three snags for 26 yards.

The Bills run defense should be the strength of their defense with a defensive line that has a lot of young quality depth that limited Alex Collins and the rest of the Ravens run game to get going at all.
