NFL Power Ranking Preseason Edition: NFC only gets better
The New York Giants rarely find themselves picking at the top of the draft, but when they do they find generational talents. That’s what they got with running back Saquon Barkley out of Penn State. A runner who can hit home runs on any given play, Barkley will take the load off Eli Manning’s 37-year-old shoulders.

Guard Will Hernandez, defensive end BJ Hill, and linebacker Lorenzo Carter each came off the board on day two, an impressive haul for the Giants. Each will have a chance to contribute and push New York back into the playoff conversation.
Free agent linemen Nate Solder and Patrick Omameh will join Hernandez up front as the Giants look to give Manning the time and protection he needs. There are more than enough weapons in Manning’s arsenal with Barkley, Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, and Evan Engram highlighting the group.
There’s upside all around this defense, from BJ Goodson to Eli Apple to Dalvin Tomlinson. Depth wise it’s not fantastic, but the Giants have a good young core starting to emerge on defense.
