#4 – Peyton Manning – Denver Broncos

He may not be off to the torrid start he was a year ago but Peyton Manning is as dangerous as ever.  His minor hiccup against the Patriots can’t overshadow he’s very much in range of tossing for 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns this season.  Never mind the fact he has a 112 rating.  Brady has the edge in their head-to-head but that could still change.

#3 – Tom Brady – New England Patriots

The old master is back to his old tricks.  Tom Brady may be 37, but he showed the NFL that it’s a bad mistake to start doubting him.  Since an ugly loss in Kansas City, the New England Patriots leader has thrown an absurd 18 touchdowns to just one interception in five games.  All of them were wins.  Brady not only is in the MVP hunt, but he has his team on course for home field advantage.

#2 – Andrew Luck – Indianapolis Colts

The young man is coming of age.  Everybody knew Andrew Luck was good and it was only a matter of time before he started to truly show it.  Well the Indianapolis Colts quarterback is proving them all right.  Based on the pace he has set, Luck should top 40 touchdown passes and 4,500 passing yards before the regular season ends.  His 100.3 quarterback rating also shows how much better he’s gotten at protecting the ball.

#1 – Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers

He is one of the few quarterbacks who has it all:  the arm, the accuracy, the vision, the legs and the mind.  Aaron Rodgers is the singular reason why the Green Bay Packers are a contender and he’s playing some of his best football in 2014.  He’s at that perfect balance between physical prime and veteran experience.
