Their playoff run last season gave hope that the Dallas Cowboys are close to cementing the roster for a legitimate run at a Super Bowl berth out of the NFC.  To do that they needed to have a good off-season from free agency to the draft.  Now that the majority of their additions are in house, it’s a matter of settling the depth chart for opening day in September.

Which positions are the most wide open in terms of finding a starter for 2015?  Here is a breakdown of the top five.

Running Back:  Darren McFadden vs. Joseph Randle

DeMarco Murray leaving has put the Cowboys rushing attack, which really carried them to that 12-4 record last season, in an interesting position.  Dallas did not address the position in the draft which means whomever they have on the roster at present will be expected to carry the load moving forward.  Most believe free agent pickup Darren McFadden will get a good look, but don’t expect Joseph Randle, who backed up Murray last season to just let the newcomer take it.  The former 5th round pick has waited for this opportunity and knows the offense better.
