The final projections are at hand.  Who are the top ten quarterbacks in pro football according to the latest NFL power rankings?

#10 – Matthew Stafford – Detroit Lions

Is his success tied solely to the health of Calvin Johnson?  Detroit Lions fans are about to find that out about Matthew Stafford who has proven himself a stat machine but still not quite a winner in the view of many.

#9 – Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers

He may be older and beat up but somehow Ben Roethlisberger seems to keep elevating his game at age 32.  He’s over 1,300 yards passing with seven touchdowns and an impressive 100.1 quarterback rating.  The Pittsburgh Steelers are 3-2 because of him.

#8 – Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons

He has more lulls than an elite quarterback should but Matt Ryan deserves more respect than he gets.  The Atlanta Falcons would be in contention for a the 1st overall pick without him and his gaudy numbers despite poor protection or proves it further.

#7 – Russell Wilson – Seattle Seahawks

He doesn’t play the typical air-it-out style of game that most quarterbacks do but Russell Wilson is no less terrifying a threat for defenses.  He can beat teams with his arm, legs or mind almost at will, provided he gets help from the Seattle Seahawks ground game, which is almost always.  A pure winner.

#6 – Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers

He started the year outside the top ten and now Philip Rivers is a favorite to win league MVP.  His uncanny ability to handle pressure and ongoing injuries to the San Diego Chargers offense only further proves he’s under appreciated.
