#5 – Tom Brady – New England Patriots
People should know better than to count out Tom Brady by this power. Just when people thought he was done, the 37-year old lit up the undefeated Bengals and put the New England Patriots back where they belong atop the AFC East.
#4 – Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints
It hasn’t always been pretty in 2014 but Drew Brees is still the catalyst for success for the New Orleans Saints. Once again their defense is retreating in mediocrity and Brees, ageless wonder that he is, has kept them in the hunt.
#3 – Andrew Luck – Indianapolis Colts
The talented boy is maturing into a dominant man. Andrew Luck leads the league in passing and is climbing to the top of the NFL power rankings where he belongs. Every week he further validates the Indianapolis Colts in their decision to part ways with Peyton Manning.
#2 – Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers
Just for the sheer number of things he can do on the field, Aaron Rodgers may be the best in the league but he still even has his moments of inconsistency that results in the Green Bay Packers losing. However, when he’s on, there’s nobody better.
#1 – Peyton Manning – Denver Broncos
People so desperately wanted to call Dan Marino the greatest ever because of his incredible stats, but couldn’t because he didn’t have a ring. Peyton Manning has both and is still doing it all at age 38. That is why is was and remains the best.
