Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft is in the books, but there’s still plenty of talent left on the board heading into Day 2. That includes two players who were once projected as top-five picks—Michigan’s Will Johnson and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders—as well as one of the most complete tight ends in the class. Here are five standout prospects still waiting to hear their names called:

Five day two prospects who could make a big impact

1. Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Entering the season, Michigan cornerback Will Johnson was widely projected as a top-five pick, thanks to his elite cover skills and 2023 All-American honors. However, a turf toe injury sidelined him for most of the year, and recent concerns about his knee have further clouded his draft stock. Still, Johnson possesses Pro Bowl upside, with a high football IQ, excellent ball skills, and the ability to excel in man coverage.

2. Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

At one point, Shedeur Sanders was viewed as a potential top-five pick—and even a contender for the No. 1 overall selection just weeks ago. However, his draft stock has dipped, primarily due to a perceived lack of elite traits: he’s not a high-end athlete, nor does he possess a cannon for an arm. That said, Sanders is a highly intelligent quarterback who displays impressive accuracy and poise in the pocket. Don’t be surprised if the Cleveland Browns target him with the first pick in the second round.

3. Mason Taylor, TE, LSU

It’s not a huge surprise that LSU’s Mason Taylor is still on the board, but he’s poised to be one of the best value picks in the draft. A member of my All-Underrated team, Taylor stands out for his well-rounded skill set. As a receiver, he boasts reliable hands—dropping just 1.8% of his targets last season—and creates matchup problems thanks to his athleticism. While he’s not a dominant, knock-you-back blocker, his sound technique and willingness to finish plays make him more than serviceable in the run game.

4. Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina

Shavon Revel Jr. remains on the board primarily due to a torn ACL that limited him to just three games this past season. Still, he’s worthy of a high second-round pick thanks to his intriguing physical tools and coverage ability. At 6-foot-2, Revel has excellent length and consistently uses it to disrupt receivers at the line of scrimmage. What really sets him apart, though, is his fluidity—he possesses the loose hips rarely seen in corners his size, allowing him to turn and run effortlessly in coverage.

5. Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina

The third defensive back to make this list, South Carolina’s Nick Emmanwori is a surprising name still on the board. At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, Emmanwori brings elite physical tools to the table, including a 4.40 40-yard dash and a 43-inch vertical leap. He’s also one of the best run-defending safeties in the class and projects as a plug-and-play starter at strong safety in the NFL.
