The most intriguing matchup of Week 2 came in Dallas, where Baylor and SMU went toe-to-toe in a double-overtime thriller. That game also delivered the top NFL Draft prospect performance of the week, courtesy of Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson, who is rapidly climbing draft boards.

Beyond Robertson, Week 2 featured several standout performances from future NFL prospects, including an edge rusher who recorded three consecutive sacks, a rising offensive tackle who many evaluators have overlooked, and a pair of players finally seeing significant snaps this season. Both of them are already earning draftable grades.

Note: To qualify for this list, players must hold a draftable grade on my 2026 NFL Draft board.

Top 10 performances from week two

1. Sawyer Robertson, QB, Baylor

NFL Fit: Los Angeles Rams

Coming into the season, I labeled Robertson as the most underrated quarterback in college football. Through two games, he is proving me right. Robertson has thrown for over 400 yards in back-to-back outings, totaling eight touchdowns without an interception. Against 17th-ranked SMU, he was spectacular, completing 68 percent of his passes for 440 yards and four touchdowns in Baylor’s 48–45 double-overtime win. Before the season, I pegged the Los Angeles Rams as an ideal fit for Robertson, and his early play only reinforces the idea that Sean McVay’s system could maximize his skill set.

2. Clev Lubin, OLB, Louisville

NFL Fit: Los Angeles Chargers

The top defensive showing of the week came from Louisville outside linebacker Clev Lubin, who racked up ten tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. His disruptive performance earned him an 88.2 grade from Pro Football Focus. Lubin now has 3.5 sacks this season after posting 9.5 in 2024, proving he can consistently pressure the quarterback. Lubin projects as a valuable day-three pick who could provide immediate depth and long-term upside for a team like the Chargers looking to bolster their pass rush.

3. Caleb Tiernan, OT, Northwestern

NFL Fit: Dallas Cowboys

Northwestern tackle Caleb Tiernan remains one of the more overlooked offensive linemen in the 2026 NFL Draft class. Last season, he surrendered just one sack and went eight straight games without allowing a single quarterback hit. While he gave up a sack in the opener against Tulane, Tiernan bounced back with a strong performance against Western Illinois, looking every bit like a solid day-two prospect. He was dominant as a run blocker and flashed the tools that suggest he could push for early playing time in Dallas.

4. CJ Allen, LB, Georgia

NFL Fit: Los Angeles Rams

The third-highest rated middle linebacker on my board is Georgia’s CJ Allen, and in his latest game against Austin Peay he showed exactly why he carries a second-round grade. Allen racked up seven tackles, added a sack, and earned an impressive 88.3 grade from Pro Football Focus. He has also yet to miss a tackle this season, reinforcing his status as one of the most reliable tacklers in the 2026 NFL Draft class. With the Rams currently fielding one of the weakest linebacker groups in the NFL, adding Allen would be a smart investment.

5. Romello Brinson, WR, SMU

NFL Fit: San Francisco 49ers

SMU wide receiver Romello Brinson has gone from off the NFL radar to earning a late-round grade on my 2026 Draft board. Last season, he totaled just 13 receptions, but in only two games this year he has already caught 11 passes and gained over 120 yards in each outing. In his latest game against Baylor, Brinson pulled in four receptions for 126 yards and two touchdowns, including a spectacular overtime grab that was the catch of the weekend. With the 49ers needing depth at wide receiver, Brinson’s athleticism and playmaking ability make him an intriguing day-three addition.

6. Beau Pribula, QB, Missouri

NFL Fit: Baltimore Ravens

Another player who has earned a draftable grade after not producing much going into the season with his very strong play this season is Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula. In his latest game against Kansas, he completed 77 percent of his passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns in a 42–31 victory. While it may seem unusual to project a quarterback to the Ravens, Pribula’s athleticism makes him a strong backup option behind Lamar Jackson. He is likely to be a day-three pick, allowing Baltimore to add an athletic signal-caller without using a high draft selection.

7. Cashius Howell, OLB, Texas A&M

NFL Fit: Washington Commanders

No one had a better sequence of plays than Texas A&M outside linebacker Cashius Howell, who recorded three consecutive sacks against Utah State. On these plays, he displayed impressive burst off the ball and excellent overall athleticism, which is why I currently grade him as a fourth-round pick. Howell would be a strong fit in Washington, with Bleacher Report listing him as one of the team’s top options at edge rusher.

8. John Mateer, QB, Oklahoma

NFL Fit: Jacksonville Jaguars

For the second consecutive week, Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer delivered one of the top ten performances in college football, landing eighth on my list after ranking second in Week One. This week, he had a stellar outing against one of the top defenses in the country, Michigan, throwing for 270 yards and accounting for three total touchdowns. While quarterback may not appear to be an immediate need for the Jaguars, if Trevor Lawrence struggles this season, a day-two pick on Mateer could provide valuable depth and potential future starter material.

9. Demond Claiborne, RB, Wake Forest

NFL Fit: Chicago Bears

Like Sawyer Robertson, Demond Claiborne was a member of my preseason All-Underrated team, and he had a huge performance in Week 2. Claiborne finished the day with 193 yards and three touchdowns on just 10 carries against Western Carolina. He showcased elite speed, breaking off four runs of over 15 yards and one explosive 85-yard touchdown run. Claiborne would be an excellent fit in Ben Johnson’s offense in Chicago, and the Bears could likely add him on Day Three of the 2026 NFL Draft.

10. Duce Robinson, WR, Florida State

NFL Fit: Cleveland Browns

One of the most impressive teams in college football this season has been Florida State, and one of their top offensive weapons is wide receiver Duce Robinson. Robinson is a 6-foot-6, 220-pound athletic receiver who excels at making plays down the field, which he showcased against East Texas A&M by catching five passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, all in the first half. The Browns could benefit from adding a big, versatile target like Robinson to complement whoever their quarterback is in 2026.
