Raiders 2025 NFL Mock Draft: Georgia Bulldogs duo reunited, Oregon WR replaces Devante Adams
The Las Vegas Raiders are in familiar territory. With a 2-4 start to the 2024 NFL season and drama going on in the locker room, can head coach Antonio Pierce find a way to get things turned around like he did when he took over as interim coach in the 2023 NFL season?
Following the DeVante Adams trade, the Raiders can either turn the season around or continue to sell off pieces as they look forward to the 2025 NFL Draft where they could be in the mix to land one of the top quarterbacks in the class. With Maxx Crosby beefing on the sideline and not wanting to be a part of a rebuild, the Raiders will have to decide quickly what kind of team they want to be through the remainder of the season.
A bright spot is that they do have Brock Bowers emerging as a top playmaker in the league. If they can find a quarterback either via trade or through the draft, the Raiders could have a quick turnaround. Is a player like Crosby willing to stick around to see how that plays out?
However, the rest of the season turns out for the Raiders, they have glaring needs that can be upgraded through the draft.
Current state of the Las Vegas Raiders
2024 NFL season record: 2-4, 4th in the AFC West
Team offense: Rank 28th (293.3 yards per game)
Team defense: Rank 12th (326.5 yards per game)
2025 NFL Draft position: No. 11
Top positional needs: QB, WR, CB, OL
2025 NFL Draft outlook
Even if second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell settles in at quarterback the remainder of the season, the Raiders should be in the mix for one of the top QB prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. Some intriguing names are Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Georgia’s Carson Beck and Miami’s Cam Ward. A couple of names that could be there when the Raiders select at No. 11 is Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Texas QB Quinn Ewers. Any of those five QB’s would be interesting names to watch for Vegas.
The Raiders will also be looking to upgrade the secondary. Given where they are selecting in the first round, a couple of interesting names jump out in Ohio State’s Denzel Burke and Notre Dame’s Benjamin Morrison.
Some other positions of need for the Raiders will at wide receiver, offensive line and depending on what happens with Crosby, they could be looking to add to the pass rush. Here is an early-season look at what general manager Tom Telesco and the Raiders will do in this three-round NFL Mock Draft.
Depending on the needs of the top teams in the 2025 NFL Draft, one of the quarterbacks projected to go in the top 10 could slide. In this mock draft, that QB is Georgia’s Carson Beck. Taken with the No. 11 overall pick in the draft, the Raiders reunite teammates Beck and Brock Bowers.
With Bowers already doing his thing in the NFL, it will give Beck a familiar target he’s comfortable with which should make the transition to the NFL a little easier for a player who entered the 2024 season as the top QB prospect in the draft.
With a need at upgrade at the cornerback position, the Raiders dip into the deep cornerback draft class be selecting Arizona’s Tacario Davis with the No. 42 overall pick in the draft.
Long, athletic, and physical, this 6-foot-4 corner is a reliable tackler who is versatile enough to play both man and zone. His ability to play close to the line in disrupting routes at the line of scrimmage and contribute to run defense makes him a A+ pick for the Raiders at this spot in the draft.
Taking advantage of another deep draft class at wide receiver, the Raiders use the pick they got for Davante Adams to potentially find his replacement. With the No. 73 overall pick the Raiders jump at the chance to select Oregon’s Evan Stewart.
A supreme route runner with the speed to take the top off the defense, the Raiders get their deep threat with Stewart, a player who has drawn comparison to Mike Evans. Beck, Bowers and Stewart will inject excitement throughout Raiders Nation as the team hits the jackpot with this selection.
Why not continue to add to the offense by selecting one of the top running backs in college football. In selecting Ohio State’s TreVeyon Henderson with the No. 75 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Raiders get an explosive player who can hit holes with acceleration and serve as a dual-threat weapon out of the backfield. Again, Vegas adds more speed and explosiveness to an offense around Carson Beck.
